The Cyberspace Research Unit is hosting a half-day workshop on Cyberbullying at the University of Central Lancashire (Preston) at 1.30pm on the afternoon of 15th November 2006. We are inviting a range of people from Lancashire LEA, the ABA, Safeguarding Children’s Board, local government figures, as well as key industry figures from mobile phone and social networking backgrounds. This is part of a Cyberspace Research Unit (we are part of the new DfES Cyberbullying taskforce) initiative to undertake a local audit of cyberbullying issues. We will also be inviting a panel of parents and children who have been affected to come along and tell us what they want in terms of risk reduction strategies, awareness materials and support/reporting mechanisms.
